One selfie, six scores
AI face scan for acne, hydration, pigment, pores, redness and texture

An intelligent skincare app with AI-driven skin analysis
A mobile app that reads skin from a single selfie, builds personalized AM & PM routines, and learns from every check-in — replacing skincare guesswork with data-backed insight.

Turn a messy, subjective habit into something measurable: accurate skin readings from phone selfies, routines people actually keep, and progress users can see — without making skincare feel like homework.
With a European beauty-tech startup, we built a mobile app that scans, scores and coaches — turning a selfie into a personal skincare plan that improves with every use.
A European beauty-tech startup on a mission to make skincare personal and evidence-based. They wanted one product that serves two audiences: people who want to understand their skin, and skincare brands who want to understand their customers. *Product name changed and client anonymized; interface mockups are illustrative concept redesigns, not the client’s production UI.

Three chapters: why skincare needed fixing, the idea that fixed it, and what it unlocked.
People buy on hype and follow routines that don’t match their skin. Brands sell without seeing what customers’ skin actually needs.
Scan, act, check in, learn. Every interaction feeds the next recommendation
Users finally see what works. Brands get real insight into real skin.
Every part of the app feeds the next, so recommendations get sharper the longer someone uses it.

An AI face scan scores six skin metrics from a single selfie.

Personalized AM and PM routines and product picks answer what the scan found.

A 30-second questionnaire captures how skin actually feels today.

Analytics link habits to results and refine the next suggestion.

We built a cross-platform app for iOS and Android with an AI analysis engine at its core.
Guided capture checks lighting, background, hair and shadows before the scan runs. The engine then scores six metrics (acne, hydration, pigmentation, pores, redness and texture) and compares every scan with the last.
Cleanse, moisturize, protect, split into AM and PM. Product scanning, streaks and a weekly consistency score keep people on track, with dermatologist “Skin School” tips right in the flow.
Daily and monthly views show month-over-month deltas for skin feeling, mood and adherence, then turn them into plain-language patterns like “hydration climbs on weeks with 5+ completed routines”.
A three-part check-in covers skincare, wellbeing and nutrition, telling the AI how skin actually feels so the next recommendation fits the person, not just the photo.
Skincare is personal, and data can feel cold. We paired a warm, editorial palette with clear data visualization so the app feels like a coach, not a lab report.

Score cards, metric chips, routine steps and check-in cards, built as reusable components so new metrics and features slot in without a redesign.

One action per screen · Plain-language insights · Progress over perfection · Guidance before capture.
Warm neutrals for calm, coral for action, forest green for healthy progress.
